We love learning, we love sharing, we love travelling and we definitely love building things. So here we are, going on this tour throughout the world with the newest, meant to challenge event powered by Geekcelerator, Disrupt or Die that is.
Who is it for?
It is an elite-only event specially designed for outstanding geeks passionate about building tech startups addressing global markets, outliers that are working on a prototype and are aiming for disruption. We call outstanding geeks: developers with lots of experience and deep knowledge in programming, UI designers who really understand what UX is about and can integrate both when envisioning and executing the concept of a product, visionary biz people who are also smart hustlers and closers.
Why participate?
If you got invited, it means we believe your startup has real potential for disruption. And it’s most definitely the right time for you to find out how far you are ready to take your startup.
What is it about?
Basically, you spend two days and an evening with us and a group of outstanding geeks and passionate people (believe us, you’ll want to meet them), during which you’ll:
1. Shed light on and expand your vision
2. Ingest mostly business oriented knowledge and experience pills.
3. Have a hands-on building business oriented experience, as a tech startup always consists of a product and its customers and/or users.
4. Experience a creativity boost.
5. Work side by side with experienced entrepreneurs/doers.
4. And much more. As we are always improving, iterating, customizing in order to deliver the best possible experience.
All in all, it’s going to be an event of an advanced level with lots of focus on those participating in it.
When and where will it take place?
The first to come is Cluj: July, 27-29, 2012. Save the date.
Other Disrupt or Die events will take place in Timisoara (TBD), Iasi (TBD), Bucharest (TBD) and Cologne (TBD, probably September). We’ll keep you posted about that.

And we are looking for those who breathe, eat and sleep all this tech startups thing. It’s going to be hard work, but sooo fun, we promise!
Here are the 3 positions open:
1. Business Developer/ Events Maven aka the A-Z events producer and total persuader, able to bring on board the most amazing partners to support them. Our Biz Dev needs to live in Bucharest, but free to travel anywhere like London, Berlin, San Francisco if needed and speak English like a native… OK, almost.
2. Social Media Geek or Chief Geek Storyteller. You can call it the new PR, we call it the heart, lungs, eyes and arms of any startup, brand, you name it. Why? We’ll explain it to you when you join the team! Your biggest passion and talent? Storytelling and strategic thinking obviously!
Our SMG/CGS must be aware and understand everything going on in the tech startup world, on every point on the planet Earth and beyond. Oh yes… and she/he should speak internet slang like a pro. Do any of these - JLUK, LFTI, BBB - sound familiar to you?
Location: Bucharest. Language: English.
3. CEO Assistant/ Chief Supporter aka the most organized, supportive and helpful person in the world. She/he’ll be expected to be able to find answers to lots of questions. Perhaps Wikipedia & Co might be something you’d love to consider.
Just like everybody else we are looking for, our Chief Supporter needs to live in Bucharest and speak English… almost like a native.
